A woman with a family history of thyroid problems, fatigue and weight gain wondered about a possible thyroid problem, saw an endocrinologist, and was told her gland was slightly enlarged. However, when she got the results of her blood work on national television, she was told her thyroid was "perfect". I wonder what test(s) were performed? I'm betting there wasn't a Free T4 or Free T3, or thyroid antibody screening! I wanted to yell at my television. One more victim of the "gold standard" tsh debacle!
