And guess what she was prescribed- why, Synthroid, of course! Like nothing else existed. I told her to ask her MD about Armour/Naturethroid and be prepared for one (or more) of these answers: 1) It's DANGEROUS! 2) It's being DISCONTINUED! 3) It's NOT EFFECTIVE! 4) It's OLD FASHIONED! Or any combo thereof. Looking forward to hearing how her particular MD responds (a physician's assistant gave her the prescription yet. They probably don't even know what the good stuff is! She also has elevated cholesterol which can come with- low thyroid activity- but instead of waiting to see how her body reacts to the thyroid meds, they wrote a script for Crestor too.
